A stretch mark is a type of scar that develops when our skin stretches or shrinks at a rapid rate. Stretch marks can appear anywhere where the skin has been stretched but are most common on areas of the body where there’s weight gain and fat is stored, such as the stomach, breasts, thighs, buttocks and upper arms.
Collagen and elastin break up in the skin as a result of the abrupt change – creating a stretch mark. There are a number of potential causes of stretch marks, such as: puberty growth spurts, pregnancy, rapid weight gain or loss, and training with weights, resulting in fast muscle growth.

Although treatments like Microneedling with or without Radiofrequency (RF) or Body Sculpting, and PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma can go a long way to improve the look of stretch marks, they may not completely disappear.
