A small sample of blood is taken from your arm, exactly like having a routine blood test. The blood is centrifuged and ten minutes later, the PRP has been separated from the whole blood and is ready to use. Once on site, the growth factors and other regenerative molecules are released leading to collagen and elastin formation as well as cellular growth and skin remodelling, resulting in long lasting skin rejuvenation.
The sensation vary between each person and treatment. Since PRP is autologous (i.e. it comes from your own blood), adverse reactions are very rare. You may experience slight redness, swelling, mild bruising and pain. Those reactions usually pass in a day or two.
This treatment can improve skin texture and tone, refine wrinkles and reduce scars such as acne or stretch marks while preserving a natural appearance. Cellenis PRP can also be used to promote hair growth when injected into the scalp. Visible results may take between 2-12 weeks and vary between individuals, depending on different factors, such as: general health, age, diet, smoking and skin type.
Dermal filler is a synthetic material designed to give volume and fill up lines in a specific area. PRP is self sourced and actively helps your skin to repair itself by improving skin complexion and restoring its natural glow.
Clinical evidence has shown that combining PRP with other rejuvenation techniques, such as fillers, mesotherapy and laser treatments induces a synergistic beneficial effect.
Initially, our nurse will examine your skin and other factors and recommend a treatment regimen. In many cases, Cellenis PRP treatment is performed in a series of three to four sessions, 3-8weeks apart. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 6-12 months for optimal long lasting results.
Contraindications include pregnancy, breast feeding, autoimmune or blood pathologies and cancer. Furthermore, consistent use of NSAID drugs (Aspirin, Ibuprofen) within 48 hours of Cellenis PRP application should be avoided. For more information, please contact our clinic.
