What is the Treatment of Cellulite?
Mesotherapy for the treatment of cellulite melts the fat in the skin and breaks up the network of connective tissue fiber that form trapping fat cells and resulting in cellulite. The medicine is injected into the cellulite or fatty tissue to improve circulation of lymphatic and venous drainage by increasing metabolism of the injected area. The fat dissolves and, as occurs when fat is broken down during typical weight loss is carried through the bloodstream and excreted by kidneys and bowel.
What will happen during the treatment?
Treatment may be carried out immediately after initial consultation at which point you will be informed as to how many treatments you will require. Mesotherapy is performed once or twice a week over a period of 4 to 8 weeks. We recommend mesotherapy for all types of cellulite.
With repeated treatments the relaxed and softened effects will last longer. Following treatment, you will be given an after-care sheet. We will also keep in touch to discuss your treatment plan and remind you when your next treatment is due.
Possible side effects
A common side effect is bruising, which generally resolves after a week. Mesotherapy can be a little uncomfortable, but not painful. It is best to avoid contact with the sun directly after the treatment as this may produce pigmentation.
